Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Disability Services (DBHDS) System Transformation Excellence & Performance (STEP-VA) Mobile Crisis Training Curriculum; 2021

Description: As a subcontractor to Briljent, W2 Consulting Corporation provided the Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to develop the content for a six-course mobile crisis training curriculum for children/youth to include a training manual and a train the trainer modality. We liaised with stakeholders from DBHDS and Community Services Boards (CSB) to ensure all parties were in agreement throughout the project. The STEP-VA content was created by W2 Consulting SMEs in the following areas: 1) Safety; 2) De-escalation; 3) Screening, Triage, and Assessment; 4) Child and Family Dynamics; 5) Trauma; and 6) Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities. We created a Stakeholder Interview Protocol that was administered to both the SMEs from DBHDS and CSB.

Training and Technical Assistance.W2 Consulting SMEs administered the training remotely over four full days to behavioral health providers throughout the state of Virginia. We contributed to the writing of the training manual and the train the trainer manual. We were also available to the adult learners throughout the training.
